Summary
About the Position: You will serve as a Laboratory Worker assigned to the Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory (FTDTL), Fort Meade, Maryland. This specialized U.S. Army forensic scientific laboratory operationally supports mandated various Department of Defense (DoD) drug abuse programs.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to maintain a valid state driver's license in one of the 50 U.S. States or possessions to operate vehicles.
This position has a requirement to lift up to 70 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laboratory Worker~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties to include maintaining laboratory supplies and performs routine maintenance on equipment used. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing 10 to 70 pounds, such as large mail packages and full sample trays. Handles heavy pull carts containing full sample trays and numerous mail packages. The work requires continuous walking and standing on concrete or hard surface floors and considerable arm and hand movements to operate equipment and transport packages and trays.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Acquiring packages from the loading dock requires laboratory worker to be under a cover loading dock outdoors. Temperatures range from below freezing in the winter to hot and humid in the summer. The sample destruction area is generally noisy requiring hearing protection. There is frequent chance of minor injuries such as cuts, sprains, muscle pulls, scrapes, burns, skin irritation from detergents, and exposure to human urine.

Additional information
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
