Internal Medicine Opening in MN Fairmont, MN "The City of Lakes"; 2 hours from Minneapolis Health System in Fairmont, MN is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician to join our practice. - Clinic-based - Typical clinic hours, Monday Friday 8 to 5 p.m - Provide primary care for adults who have multiple medical conditions or undefined symptoms and complaints and should expect a diverse patient population - An elderly patient panel. It is not uncommon to have many patients over 90 years of age, all of whom would live independently still, or within a nursing home/assisted care facility - Expect patients to present with multiple comorbidities and complexities The services provided in the clinic include: - Preventative medicine screening care such as mammograms, pap smears, routine colon cancer screening evaluations, cholesterol screening, blood pressure screening, etc. - Care for patients with undefined symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, abdominal pain, back pain, etc. - Management of multiple medications. - Care for patients with chronic medical illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, emphysema, etc. - Pre-operative evaluations. - Medical students and APPs in training rotate through the outpatient clinic setting. - After-hours call is covered by the expert RN triage phone line. Primary Care providers provide backup for the expert RN triage phone line (currently equates to six days of call out of the year for each Internist). - EPIC electronic medical record with excellent technical support. Qualifications - Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine - Ability to obtain an unrestricted Minnesota license Fairmont, known as the City of Lakes, is located in the south central part of Minnesota, just two hours south of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro and one hour south of Mankato, Minnesota.
