Summary
About the Position: Community Based Medical Home (CBMH) Williamsburg is located in New Town, Williamsburg, VA, approximately 17 miles north of Fort Eustis. This primary care medical clinic is open Monday through Friday from 0800-1700. The Model of Care used is Patient Centered Medical Care.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
Conduct patient assessments, take patient vital signs, and prepare patients for exams.
Review, reconcile, and administer medications and vaccinations.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop care plans, maintain accurate patient records, and advocate for patients.
Assist with daily patient activities including exams and procedures.
Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling, patient education and counseling, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a current Practical (Vocational) licensure with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions in a state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia.
This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
This position requires Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede Basic Life Support completion.
Required to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Pre-employment physical required and annually thereafter.
This position has been designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 5% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), annually unless exempted by a licensed physician.
Required to wear Personnel Protective Equipment.
This position is designated as having regular and recurring contact with children under the age of 18 and is subject to requirements of DoDI 1402.05.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Practical Nurse:
Licensure: A current license to practice as a practical or vocational nurse in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia; OR must have applied for a license to practice. Applications of candidates possessing a license must be accompanied by a certified or photostatic copy of the license, a notarized statement attesting to the fact, or a citation of the license number and State issuing it. Non-licensed candidates who have completed their training may be appointed subject to obtaining the required license during the probationary period. Those not licensed must furnish the date on which they applied for a license and the jurisdiction involved. No person appointed pending licensure may be retained beyond the probationary period if licensure has not been attained.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirement listed below:
Experience: One year of nursing experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques and procedures, performing such duties as: measuring patients' vital signs; administering immunizations or medications via various routes; screening or updating patient medical records; assisting with routine procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), pulmonary function tests, wound care, audiograms, or vision screenings; and coordinating patient assignments. This definition of nursing experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Additional information
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
