Summary This position is located at Dragon Hill Ldoge at Yongsan, South Korea. It is the applicant's responsibility to read all sections and associated links in this vacancy announcement. Application Information Kit Learn more about this agency Duties Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of accounting documents submitted by assigned activities. Maintains assigned subsidiary ledgers for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, customer deposits, unearned income, annual leave payable, equipment, prepaid items and central storeroom accounts. Determines that all transactions are properly processed and that total activity agrees with predetermined control tables. Analyses and reviews reports and machine listing to assure they are in balance and in proper format and sort sequence, that accounting data is valid and that it adheres to prescribed regulatory manuals and procedures. Classifies erroneous conditions referring complex errors/problems to the accountant. Takes corrective action to bring reports and listings into balance. Verifies corrected copy and recommends changes in procedures to prevent a recurrence of the problem. Requirements Conditions of employment Social Security Number must be verified upon selection. Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI) and all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a local vacancy announcement for U.S Citizens eligible under country Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA). Ordinarily residents in Korea are NOT eligible. One year probationary period is required. Must be able to work on the weekends, holidays, night shifts and other situations. Applicant must be available for an interview in-person. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. Work experience performing accounting support duties as described in the main duties. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate or above level). Must be able to work on the weekends, holidays and night shifts. Preferred Bilingual: Able to speak, read and write Korean. Education Preferred: 24 semester hours in accounting OR combination of education and experience at least 4 years of experience in accounting, OR an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. Allowances and Differentials This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
