Summary
The U.S. DOT Volpe Center is seeking a Supervisory Transportation Analyst to lead the CAFE Program Office which supports projects related to the development and execution of analyses to assess the cots and benefits of national fuel economy standards.Ā You will be responsible for developing and implementing transportation policies and programs and providing technical guidance on regulations, policies, strategic planning and coordination of programs and affiliated initiatives and activities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
SELECTIVE SERVICE: Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for the Selective Service.
GOVERNMENT TRAVEL CARD: This position involves travel.Ā A government contractor-issued travel card will be issued and must be retained for official business only.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Applicants may be required to successfully complete a one-year probationary period (unless already completed).
SUPERVISORY PROBATIONARY PERIOD: New supervisors must complete a 1-year probationary period (unless already completed).
REMOTE WORK:Ā This position may be eligible for Remote Work.Ā Ā Remote work means the residence is the full-time official duty location. If selected for a remote work position, you must have access to high speed internet and cell phone service meeting current Agency standards from the approved work location within the Contiguous United States. You will be required to sign a remote work agreement.
Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications.
To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:
Experience researching, identifying, and/or assessing the impact of transportation project/program investment, emerging transportation technology programs, equity assessment, or comparable transportation work involving public policy,
Experience managing resources and leading multi-disciplinary technical team(s) in the formulation, development, analysis, and execution of programs to create solutions and/or propose alternative methods of operation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Technical Knowledge - Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform transportation infrastructure, policy, and/or program management work; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the development of infrastructure financing, promoting innovation in transportation infrastructure, and administering grant programs; consulting skill and advises others on technical issues; and a high degree of writing and oral communication skill.
Program Management - Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for the coordinated management of programs to include providing oversight projects, providing technical guidance, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related activities.
Leadership - Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations.
Written and Oral Communication - Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Makes clear and convincing oral presentations. Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed.
For all types of consideration, experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Ā Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Ā You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
