Summary
You will serve as a security specialist responsible for the planning, integration, and oversight of a comprehensive Center-level security program supporting critical spaceflight, research, and engineering missions at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

Duties
Provides authoritative guidance to Center leadership on security policy, risk management, and compliance with federal regulations, Executive Orders, and NASA directives.
Leads the development and execution of integrated security strategies encompassing personnel, physical, information, industrial, and insider threat programs as well as ensures strategic alignment with NASA mission requirements.
Ensures proper accreditation of facilities, implementation of protective measures, and coordination with federal law enforcement and emergency management organizations to safeguard personnel and assets.
Administers information security and classification management programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and NASA Procedural Requirements for the protection, handling, and dissemination of classified/sensitive information.
Serves as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) or alternate, providing technical oversight and administration.
Advises Center leadership on security incidents, violations, and emerging threats, including physical risks, insider threat concerns, and workplace violence prevention.
Assists the Center Chief of Protective Services with establishing organizational priorities, managing resources, and ensuring workforce readiness.
Represents MSFC Office of Protective Services in interagency and NASA-wide security forums, working groups, and audits. Develops briefings, reports, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
Planning, coordinating, and/or executing multi-disciplinary security programs across various facilities;
Advising leadership on security posture, emerging threats, and incident response and/or developing recommendations that influence program direction, resource allocation, and organizational risk management decisions; AND
Overseeing security operations and incident response activities and/or implementing corrective actions to protect personnel, facilities, and sensitive assets.

Probationary Period
You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. If selected, the requirement to serve such period will be determined by Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 11.
