Summary This position is located at the MWR Leisure Travel Services (ITR). This position is a FLEX position. FLEX positions can be worked anywhere between 0 - 40 hours per week. Hours are not guaranteed. Learn more about this agency Duties Discusses and coordinates with Supervisor current and planned activities and events to include arrangements for special programs and related staffing requirements to assure continuous, prompt and courteous customer service. Provides guests with local information concerning available programs and activities, making individual reservations, answering questions concerning any aspect of operated facilities and providing prompt, courteous service in any area requested. Receives payments, issues receipts as required, documents business transactions through computer posting entries, process retail sales through cash register, ensures proper internal control procedures on key issues are followed. Must be familiar with all programs offered by the activity, as well as be familiar with local area as the job requires providing a lot of information to guests, which could also be as a tour guide. Must always maintain a positive attitude around and towards guests in order to project a positive image of the activities and programs. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required. Must be available to work Friday - Monday 9:00am until 5:30pm and weekends and holidays. Work hours and workdays are subject to change depending on the needs of the department. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: No work experience required, however, must be able to: Obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED training certification within 6 months of hire. Communicate in English (both written and verbal). Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry 40 pounds, walk, bend and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors. Highly Preferred - Resume must demonstrate experience in the highly preferred criteria. Must have RecTrac experience. Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list. Education This position does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Area of Consideration This job is open to candidates who reside withing the local commuting area of Fort Carson (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.). Allowances and Differentials This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
