Learn more about this agency Duties Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public: registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves. Shelves library materials, prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials. Provides technical services support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials. Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems. Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities. Incumbent required to work rotating shifts that include nights, weekends and holidays. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). A qualified candidate must possess the following Minimum Qualifications: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade OR.... Two years of education above high school OR..
