Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Physician

We are seeking an experienced Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Physician to join a leading hospital in Southern California. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Level I Trauma Center that provides advanced surgical care to a diverse patient population while collaborating with a skilled, multidisciplinary team. Compensation: $500,000 Position Details: Setting: Inpatient / Hospital-based – Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Service Schedule: Flexible schedule with 24-hour in-house call and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed Shift Commitment: 11 shifts per month Trauma Level: I (some facilities may include Level I exposure) Coverage Type: Trauma, Emergency General Surgery (EGS), and Surgical Critical Care Responsibilities: Provide trauma resuscitation and surgical management for emergent and urgent cases Perform emergency general surgery procedures, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, bowel resection, hernia repair, and other acute surgical interventions Manage critically ill and postoperative patients in the ICU Collaborate with trauma, emergency medicine, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and critical care teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated patient care Participate in trauma performance improvement programs and quality initiatives Qualifications: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery Fellowship-trained in Surgical Critical Care or Trauma Surgery Active California Medical License (or ability to obtain) ATLS Certification BLS and ACLS Certifications Must have SCC boards Southern California offers an exceptional quality of life, combining professional growth opportunities with a vibrant lifestyle.
