Duties
You will perform emergency maintenance and routine repair work on real property structures, utility systems, and dynamic equipment requiring multi-trade job skills within the structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades.
You will interpret and apply sketches, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals.
You will determine what materials, tools and equipment are required and how repairs will be made.
You will perform overlapping duties involving building trades such as carpentry, paint, masonry, glass, industrial equipment repair, HVAC and electrical repair, pipefitting/plumbing, locksmith work types.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You are required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
You will be required to work on assigned shifts but will also be subject to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
You are required to furnish basic hand tools typical of the trade. Special tools pertaining to the trade will be furnished by the organization.
You will be required to be able to lift and carry 100 pounds of weight for short distances.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: The Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision. Duties performed in the position include: The ability to perform common tasks including performing Carpentry, Paint, Masonry, Glass, Industrial Equipment repair, HVAC and Electrical repair, Pipefitting/Plumbing, Locksmith, Roofer, and/or Road repair. Must possess a good multi-trade working knowledge in all areas of the Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing trades.
