This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties
You will respond to fire and fire related emergencies involving structures, aircraft, motor vehicle, wildland, and hazardous materials.
You will conduct and receive daily training, covering all subjects in the fire protection and prevention fields.
You will be responsible for inspecting structures and hazardous areas for compliance with Marine Corps Orders, Base Orders on Fire regulations and National Fire Codes.
You will inspect fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, sprinkler and alarm systems and conduct fire safety inspections of facilities.
You will be required to respond to all emergency medical related incidents and administer emergency care in accordance with the Fire and Emergency Services (F and ES).
You will respond to any release of hazardous materials, munitions, and fires.
You will operate a Hazardous Materials/Rescue Vehicle and operate specialized equipment and lighting systems.
You will respond to wildland fires.
You will respond to life safety situations involving fires, aircraft incidents, water rescues, high angle and trench rescue, confined space and hazardous materials including Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear and Explosive Devices.
You will respond to aircraft emergencies as part of an Engine Company or in conjunction with Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting crews.

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
This is a bargaining unit position
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Aircraft Rescue Firefighting certification within one year of employment.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
You are required to POSSESS and maintain a current National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification.
You are required to POSSESS a Firefighter I and II Department of War certification or equivalent (Pro-Board or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress).
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Hazardous Materials Operations certification within one year of employment.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Administering emergency care as an Emergency Medical Technician (i.e. obtaining and recording vital signs, dress and bandage wounds, determine dose and route methods of approved medications, and assembling and operating suction equipment for patient airway management etc); and 3) Conducting fire safety inspections in for compliance with applicable regulations,

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows:
*Appropriate firefighter training may be substituted for experience on a month-for-month basis*
GS-04
2-year course of study in an accredited college or university in Fire Training, Fire Science, or other related fields of study
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.

Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
No PCS costs will be paid.
