About the Position: This position is located at the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Supply and Services Division. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license. Employee shall be required to pass and maintain forklift certification and driving test. Employee may be required to work shift work, irregular tour of duty, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination. The duties of this position require Temporary Duty Travel approximately 5% of the duty time. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator)~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) tasks. I can perform warehousing operations which include 1) receiving, storing and issuing a wide variety of supplies and equipment; and 2) unloading, inspecting, and tallying stock to assure quantities and types of items agree with shipping documents. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (other than blueprints) Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Physical Effort: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items. Working Conditions: Primarily works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting and overturning loads. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 13 months position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. This position MAY be made permanent. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
