Summary Announcement is in conjunction with the JBLM NAF HR Office Job Fair at the Eagles Pride Golf Course in Dupont, WA on Tuesday, 07 April 2026 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This position is located at JBLM MWR Swimming Pools. This is a "Flexible" position (0-40 hours) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Learn more about this agency Duties Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility. Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills. Instructs all levels of swimming and appropriate strokes, to include; front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly. Teach students from age groups of infant through adults. Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities. The subject may be required to complete additional background checks due to being required to have regular and recurring contact with children. Must be able to work a schedule that includes weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Work experience related to the duties described above. AND Possession of the following certificates: Water Safety Instructor Certification Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) First Aid Certification (Certificates issued by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable). Certificates are required for this position and must be submitted at the time of application. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess a Lifeguard Certification Certificate must be submitted at the time of application to be considered highly preferred.
