For more information please see: AcqDemo This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command. Incumbent will be responsible for ** Serves as a Zero Trust Specialist within the USTRANSCOM's Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems Directorate. Learn more about this agency Duties As a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) at the NH-2210-3 some of your typical work assignments may include: Plans, develops, and administers the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) and USTRANSCOM cyberspace information assurance programs. Conducts independent comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by an Information System to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls. Analyzes risks and recommends actions on cyberspace operations defense and cybersecurity operational, technical, and policy matters. Manages program goals and objectives across multiple functions and disciplines and provides a focused, seamless, and supportive environment for protecting information in order to provide cybersecurity and mission assurance. Develops information systems authorization packages and security plans that adhere to Federal and Agency requirements. Requirements Conditions of employment Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance clearance This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. This is a cybersecurity position. employee must attain and maintain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity Certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions for the DoD position held, within six months of filling the position, IAW DoD 8140 Must be a U.S. citizen Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service Must be able to obtain/maintain Top Secret clearance. Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation Overtime: Occasionally Recruitment Incentives: May be authorized Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt Tour of Duty: Flexible Telework: telework eligible at management discretion Work Schedule: Full time May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606 Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays An undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is highly desirable. Qualifications You may qualify at the NH-03, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Interpret and apply Federal and DoW Cybersecurity laws, regulations, and policies assess risk and mission impacts of security vulnerabilities utilizing resources such as Cybersecurity Framework and NIST standards Create, review, and deliver governance documentation, strategies, roadmaps, charters and standards, using tools such as Microsoft Office Suite. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
