You will analyze current procedures and methods to determine quality and cost effectiveness of the process. You will be directly responsible to the Heavy Mobile Equipment Repair Inspector Supervisor 1, who has responsibility for timeliness, quantity, and overall quality of work performed. You will perform detailed condition Inspection to verify or correct condition codes of equipment received at the Marine Depot Maintenance Command. You will maintain records of all functional testing performed, with results achieved, equipment Inspected, and condition codes assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This is a bargaining unit position. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to properly identify and document which system, component, or which part of a system is defective or not performing properly.; knowledge of the mechanical trade; Knowledge of the electrical, hydraulics, metal, and paint and preservation trades and understanding of mechanical theory and mechanical work processes utilized in the rebuild, repair, modification, installation of components, controls systems and operations of a wide variety of equipment.
