ABA Billing Manager

Role Overview
The ABA Billing Manager is responsible for leading and managing the billing department to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant billing practices. This role focuses on optimizing revenue cycle management, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of ABA services billing, leadership experience, and a proactive approach to resolving complex billing issues.
Key Responsibilities
Department Oversight
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the billing department.
• Supervise billing specialists and other department staff, providing guidance and support.
• Monitor departmental performance and implement improvements as needed.
Strategic Planning
• Develop, document, and implement billing policies and procedures to streamline processes and maximize efficiency.
• Analyze and recommend strategies to optimize revenue cycle performance.
Compliance Management
• Ensure all billing practices comply with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations.
• Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and communicate updates to the team.
Financial Reporting
• Prepare and present reports on billing activities, revenue trends, and financial performance to senior management.
• Use data to identify opportunities for financial improvement and risk mitigation.
Problem-Solving
• Address and resolve complex billing issues, including denied or delayed claims.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., clinical or HR teams) to resolve disputes and streamline cross-functional processes.
Training and Development
• Train billing staff on updates to billing practices, software systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Foster professional development within the team through coaching and performance evaluations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience:
• Extensive experience in medical billing, particularly for ABA services.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and revenue cycle management.
• Proficiency in billing software and reporting tools.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to generate and interpret financial reports and identify trends.
• Interpersonal Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with staff, senior management, and external stakeholders.
