Job Description

As the Absence Product Manager, you will support all aspects of Guardian's Absence product portfolio, working in close partnership with the Disability, Absence, Supplemental Health and Life Product Management leadership team. In alignment with the overarching Group Benefits strategy, you will help support the development and execution of product strategies to drive market-leading growth and profitability and deliver value to our customers and partners!

You will:

  • Gather Absence program data from various internal resources to crate a comprehensive metrics overview
  • Partner with data, reporting and business intelligence teams to solution for and develop internal automated Absence reporting
  • Create compelling presentations using internal data to contextualize and effectively communicate Absence program performance
  • Support products in market to ensure they are performing as desired by developing and monitoring key metrics and having collaborative discussions with distribution, underwriting and pricing.
  • Partner closely with Absence product team members to implement the product strategy and multi-year roadmap. The roadmap will be inclusive of all necessary maintenance activities, planned enhancements to the products & related capabilities, and new development activities.
  • Assess key market factors, to identify areas of opportunity for differentiated product or service enhancements to meet customer expectations and achieve growth for Guardian.
  • Partner with business partners to identify new features and enhancements that will result in strong client & member experience, increased sales, participation, and persistency
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including underwriting, sales, marketing, enrollment, service, claims, IT and finance
  • Ensure product positioning capitalizes on revenue opportunities.
  • Work closely with technology and operations to define capabilities and processes required to effectively implement and deliver the products and capabilities to partners, collaborators, and customers
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance on Legislative and regulatory topics impacting the product set.
  • Bring external insights into the organization for the purpose of understanding evolving client & member needs and marketplace trends
  • Inspire others and communicate the business need for change

You are:

You have:

  • Experience in Group Insurance product development or similar role, working with Absence and PFML products
  • Deep knowledge of competitive practices and trends in the Absence market
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks
  • Technical understanding of product and customer requirements along with the ability to support large- and small-scale product development initiatives
  • Highly effective negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Highly analytical, with strong critical thinking skills
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Travel up to 10%
  • 2 days hybrid Bethlehem, PA, Greater NYC, Greater Boston

Salary Range

$93,200.00 - $153,110.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
