The Role

We are looking for an Accessibility Consultant who has deep knowledge of Accessibility best practices meeting WCAG standards for digital content and experiences. Ceros’ flagship product, the Studio, currently has a solid foundation of accessibility enabling tools and we are looking to further invest in enabling our clients to create accessible experiences. With this role, we are looking for a subject matter expert who can help us continue to improve our accessibility capabilities.

The Accessibility Consultant is a truly cross-functional role. You will work closely with the customer success team, support team, educate team, product team, content producers, leadership, and other Ceros team members to ensure that our clients are well equipped and supported to build accessible experiences.

To be successful, you should understand the balance between creative freedom and accessibility standards and help guide Ceros on how to practically establish best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, professional services, leadership, and others to increase understanding of accessibility across the company
  • Understand how accessibility tools work within the Ceros product(s), and leverage that understanding to advise how accessibility guidelines apply to Ceros
  • Support and coach development teams and content creators to implement best practices and identify further opportunities to promote and teach accessibility
  • Engage with clients to help them build accessible experiences in Ceros when questions arise
  • Stay up to date on the latest accessibility requirements (mainly WCAG) and help plan for the best way for Ceros to meet those requirements
  • Serve as an advocate across the organization on the importance of accessibility

Practical stuff we anticipate you having

  • 3+ years of hands on experience with digital accessibility
  • Proficient using and interpreting assistive technology and tools to evaluate accessibility (ex: screen readers, WAVE, Lighthouse, Apple tools, etc)
  • An understanding of HTML as it relates to creating digitally accessible websites and content
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, both internal and client facing
  • Proficient in knowledge of WCAG guidelines
  • Generosity in sharing knowledge, skills, and positive attitude in mentoring people to learn accessibility concepts.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams (customer success, support, educate, product, etc)
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Have a strong interest in design 

What will set you apart

  • Previous experience with design software 
  • Certified IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)

Key things to know

  • This is a full-time position
  • This is a 100% remote role but we are primarily in the U.S. Eastern time zone and prefer candidates who can have an overlapping work schedule with the rest of the team
  • Daily face-to-face (Zoom) interaction is a must
