Accessories Designer

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing a range of accessories. 
• Conducting market research and identifying trends to inform product development. 
• Creating and maintaining technical drawings and specifications for products. 
• Working with the design team to develop product concepts and prototypes. 
• Liaising with suppliers to source materials and components for products. 
• Collaborating with the production team to ensure products are manufactured to the required standard. 
• Working with the sales and marketing teams to ensure products meet customer needs and are effectively promoted. 
• Managing product development timelines and ensuring products are delivered on time and to budget.
• Following development of product/project.
• Collaborating with the design team to brainstorm and develop new product ideas. 
• Creating sketches and renderings of accessories designs. 
• Conducting material research and sourcing for prototypes and final production. 
• Participating in design meetings and presenting concepts to the team. 
• Conducting fittings and making adjustments to prototypes for optimal fit and comfort. 
• Reviewing and approving product samples for quality and adherence to design specifications. 
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor analysis. 
• Maintaining accurate records of design concepts, technical drawings, and product specifications. 
• Assisting in the development of style guides and design documentation. 
• Providing guidance and support to junior designers and interns. 
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and marketing, to ensure smooth product execution. 
• Attending trade shows, fashion events, and industry conferences to gather inspiration and stay informed on emerging trends.
• Ability to pivot and jump from project to project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fashion design, accessories design, or a related field. 
• 2-4 years of experience in accessories design. 
• Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Docs and Excel. 
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others. 
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. 
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
