THE JOB / Account Director, Travel Client (Embedded)

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

Are you passionate about storytelling in the world of sponsorships and partnerships? This role works with some of the most well- known sports leagues in North America to craft exciting brand campaigns that tap into audience’s passion points. In this role, you’ll deliver a series of brand-focused campaigns and consumer activations across the client’s global portfolio of sponsorships in college football, NBA, and soccer. This position is an embedded role based out of the client’s Austin, TX office and requires the employee to be in office two days a week as well as a full week every quarter.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

• Keep a pulse on audience passion points and serve as a subject matter expert in their fandom and behavior
• Collaborate with stakeholders to plan, produce and launch sponsorship integrated campaigns that align with sponsorship guidelines
• Craft strategic recommendations for sponsorship campaigns that are relevant, rooted in fan behavior and aligned with brand initiatives and the client brand audience
• Lead all aspects of the relationship with our key sponsorship partners and be the key day-to-day point of contact on behalf of the client
• Brainstorm recommendations for new sponsorships and partnerships that align to brand priorities and audiences
• Work with external agency partners including creative agency and external measurement partners (i.e. Nielsen Sports) on the day-to-day and ensure their effective deployment across the sponsorship portfolio
• Lead delivery and management and development of core sponsorship branding assets and of physical and digital branding rights that are exclusive to sponsors
• Define, develop and manage the integrated sponsorship activation plan and calendar, in coordination with internal and external partners
• Support and oversee the development of sponsorship-related Brand and Advertising campaigns, PR and Social activations, branded content and Retail promotions - collaborating closely with Brand and Retail Marketing teams and collaborating with their respective agency partners - to ensure consistency in tone and messaging, compliance with strategic sponsorship platform and objectives and effective and timely approval of all activity from sponsorship partners
• Coordinate with Loyalty team on management and execution of member-focused campaigns and promotions enhancing sponsorship assets and access
• Drive partnership with Below-The-Line channels (CRM, App, Product, SEO, SEM) to ensure appropriate usage of sponsorships rights and opportunities

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 7+ years of experience in the sponsorship and partnerships space
• A strategic problem solver that loves to stay close to what audiences are doing, thinking, and interested in
• A proactive self-starter that jumps into tasks with passion regardless of how big or small.
• Outstanding project management and organizational skills
• Someone with patience that is accustomed to working through multi-layered processes and managing partners with competing priorities and timelines.
• Willing to work non-traditional hours including weekend/holiday travel
• Willingness to travel to various event sites throughout the U.S. and Globally

Compensation + Benefits:

Director: The base range for this position is $70,000 – 90,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications
