Job Description

Position Objective

Responsible for the servicing and marketing needs of Lockton clients for Executive Risk coverages under the general guidance of the Unit Manager and in accordance with Lockton procedures.

Essential Duties
  • Be instrumental in helping producers write new LFS business in Healthcare & Education
  • Serve as coverage expert to clients for Executive Risk coverages
  • Coordinate with Risk in managing overall client service needs
  • Cross sell LFS lines of business
  • Conduct coverage reviews for clients and prospects
  • Maintain strong underwriter relationships
  • Decide on marketing plan for renewal
  • Attend any internal/external pre-renewal meetings with Risk
  • Submit information to market(s)
  • Receive and review quotes
  • Ability to liaise with the claims team on critical matters
  • Advanced working knowledge of essential Healthcare & Education trends
  • Ability to negotiate within the Lloyds of London & Bermuda markets
  • Working knowledge of Healthcare & Education carriers and underwriters
  • Advanced knowledge of Healthcare & Education D&O/EPL/Fiduciary/Fidelity/Regulatory/E&O/Cyber/WPV/AS/Managed care products
  • Set up proposal meeting with client/coordinate with Risk when applicable
  • Compose proposal
  • Propose to client
  • Discuss and update all items to discuss
  • Offer premium financing
  • Receive written confirmation from client giving us authority to bind coverage
  • Send underwriter an email binding coverage
  • Update marketing summary/post-binding checklist and hand off to account support team
  • Review certificate requests
  • Ability to present to C-Suite level and Board of Trustees
  • Advanced knowledge of Regulatory & Antitrust provisions
  • Advanced knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, Title IX and the ACA preferred
  • Advanced skill in Cyber liability and privacy liability cover including regulatory


Qualifications
  • Advanced working knowledge of financial service coverages and services with preference in the Healthcare & Higher Education space
  • Substantial experience in marketing and servicing the insurance needs of commercial accounts
  • Understanding of commercial rating concepts
  • Expanded insurance industry knowledge through experience and/or course work
  • Proven ability to organize and manage time in order to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and execute oral and written instruction
  • Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to instill confidence with clients so client looks to you and to Lockton as more than just an insurance broker, but a partner in business
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or similar software applications
  • Advanced working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and formula calculations
  • High aptitude for mathematical calculations including multiplication, division, and percentages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated presentation skills (preparation and execution)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communications skills and ability to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility
  • Effectively delegates as appropriate
  • Demonstrated understanding of when to proceed alone and when to involve the Unit Manager, Producer, or others
  • Wholly understands the concept, issues, and overall impact of market pricing
  • Ability to consult clients on other Lockton services and insurance needs
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision-making
  • Personal presence to interface with top management of other business, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner
  • Ability to coach and mentor other Associates
  • Ability to assist Unit Manager with development and implementation of internal controls and procedures to assure the performance of Unit Associates necessary for excellence in customer satisfaction
  • General understanding of human resource policies and procedures and ability to implement and/or know when to escalate
  • Willingness and ability to expand knowledge and effectiveness in the financial services industry by successful completion of extended classes and workshops related to insurance Firm, fluent grasp of English language with above average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility
  • Ability to speak into and adequately hear voices from telephone equipment
  • Legal right to work in the United States
