Account Executive - SMB
As an Account Executive for our SMB vertical at Burq, you will work closely with our internal teams and leadership to build and implement effective sales strategies, focused on SMBs. You will drive the use of Burq's platform to prospective customers, and develop a deep understanding of their logistics needs and workflows to suggest the correct platform usage and foster user adoption. You'll act as an advocate for the customer, working closely with our product and engineering teams to optimize and ensure the best possible customer experience. You will be part of an emerging team that is helping our clients optimize their delivery operations, and have an immediate impact as the first employee dedicated to this function at a fast-growing, early-stage startup.
What You'll Do
- Be one of the first 20 people in a growing company on an amazing team
- Develop and implement strategies to grow Burq's SMB vertical, including plans to reach goals and quotas
- Managing the entire sales cycle from finding potential customers to securing deals, including negotiating contracts and assisting with contract reviews
- Unearthing new opportunities through networking and market research and converting them into long-term partnerships
- Be the SME for SMB customers - developing a deep understanding of their workflows, pain-points, and how Burq's platform can plug into their processes
- Create a database of prospects, maintain existing CRM, and develop strategy for outreach campaigns to target existing and prospective customers
- Research and develop data-driven approaches to define and measure success criteria for strategic initiatives and internal productivity
- Work cross-functionally to ensure the optimal customer experience and build solutions and strategies to remove bottlenecks and scale our sales operations
Requirements
Who You Are
- 2+ years of professional experience in either sales, customer success, or equivalent customer-facing role
- A passion for finding the best solutions for customers based on their workflows
- 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role
- Experience with collaborating cross-functionally with operations, customer success, product, and technical teams
- Excited to develop sales strategies, define metrics to track success, research and build out lists of companies to target, and designing and building campaigns
- Have a go-getter attitude and thrive in the startup environment - you are not shy to experiment with new concepts and use data to validate the success of your designs
- Previous experience with CRM platforms, automated outreach tools, ticketing systems, and data analytics dashboard platforms (or strong interest to learn with an affinity for learning new tools)
- Are highly organized and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Are a skilled listener & with excellent verbal and written communications, strong negotiation skills
