Job Summary: The Sales Account Executive is responsible for the sales results of the assigned geographic territory. In this role, you will identify, strategize, and pursue opportunities that will result in the sales of our products and services. Our clients include municipal, county and state transportation agencies as well as consultants, system integrators and contractors. You will establish, manage, and grow business relationships and sales results with field application engineers, technicians, professional transportation engineers, planners and directors of transportation and operations. Sales Account Executive will contribute to the transportation vision with public agencies and provide leading-edge solutions. You will provide value to our customer portfolio by providing hardware, software, and services to address customer transportation issues. The Sales Account Executive is an individual contributor role that requires the ability to successfully work under limited supervision and direction. A successful Sales Account Executive will work collaboratively within a broad matrixed business model. The Sales Executive must operate with high integrity and sound business practices. The compensation for this role is comprised of a base salary with an uncapped annual incentive plan, a vehicle allowance and a mobile phone allowance.

What you'll do (Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Identifies new and expanded business opportunities within a geographic region.
  • Develops and implements sales and marketing strategies.
  • Monitors and analyzes sales and marketing activity against goals.
  • Provides input for accurate and realistic bookings forecast estimates.
  • Develops and maintains contacts with customers.
  • Develops marketing information used for new business proposals, product specifications, statements of work and systems requirements.
  • Recommend application and/or modification of Company products to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Confers with customer technical representatives and management to determine and interpret customer requirements.
  • Improves competitive position by recommending new applications of systems, providing information on the technical development of systems and assisting in program planning.
  • Keeps track of potential sales opportunities and marketing efforts of competitor firms.
  • Participates in the preparation of the strategic plan.
  • Offers knowledge support and expertise to other account executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Submits timely expense reports and maintain Salesforce with up-to-date sales activities and customer account information.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Five or more years of technical sales experience. Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in the Intelligent Transportation Systems industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience in business development/sales to an engineering community required; the traffic/transportation community highly desirable.
  • Experience developing technical hardware/software specifications through a consultative process with public agencies and consultants.
  • Demonstrable & successful track record with quota attainment.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Knowledge of structured sales quota goals and revenue expectations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel as required (~50% overnight).
  • Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
  • Prefer candidates to be located within Jacksonville or Orlando.
