Account Executive, Mid Market PK-12

Kognito (www.kognito.com) is a brand of Ascend Learning and develops experiential learning solutions where users engage in simulation role-play conversations with virtual humans and learn how to lead similar conversations in real-life, that result in improved social, emotional, and physical health. We work with more than 800 education, health and gov't organizations in and outside of the U.S. To date, more than 1 million people have completed a Kognito simulation. Our team of 200+ people include learning scientists, psychologists, software engineers, graphic artists, writers, and operation specialists.
Kognito is hiring for a mid-market account executive who will be passionate about education and use consultative value-based sales techniques to drive new business opportunities for Kognito in the PK-12 market. Cold outreach prospecting, territory planning, marketing follow-up, and an eagerness to gain a solid understanding of market problems facing PK-12 stakeholders today will be critical to effectively position Kognito's suite of solutions with district leaders in the assigned territory.This position will be remote working within assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic territory plan and individual account based tactics to effectively penetrate and identify new business sales opportunities with ultimate district level decision makers.
- Maintain accurate and predictable forecasts of sales opportunities in our Salesforce CRM.
- Develop rapport, manage and grow consultative relationships with prospects and customers.
- Identify prospects' root problems, needs, key stakeholders, and purchasing process via active listening and sequencing the right questions during sales conversations.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism with colleagues and clients daily. Engages support resources effectively.
- Lead sales conversations and presentations with small group audiences either in-person, via conference call, and/or in web enabled environments using PowerPoint and other technologies.
- Meet and exceed sales quotas by creating and communicating the value of Kognito's solutions with prospects and existing clients.
- Abilitiyto obtain agreement from multiple decision makers throughout all stages of the sales cycle by gaining commitments to next steps and confirming a sale.
Education & Experience
- Experience working in K-12 education industry or EdTech is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Saas sales proactively identifying opportunities, effectively prioritizing time, and executing on a consultative sales strategy to drive results and consistently achieve quarterly and annual quotas.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in PK-12 sales

- Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with internal cross functional partners to problem solve, share learnings, and achieve shared business goals.
- Ability to travel to client locations, corporate training, and conferences about 10-20% of the time.
