Account Executive, State & Strategic Accounts
Job Description
Discovery Education is looking for an Account Executive, Strategic Partnerships for the Pacific West region to join our Statewide and Strategic Partnerships team.
Our Statewide and Strategic Partnerships team pairs DE products and services as must have educational solutions with our partners' need using a relationship based and consultative sales model.
This is a hybrid role in which you will work from your home office and travel roughly 40-70% of your time.
As an Account Executive you will be responsible for new sales and account management in the Pacific West region and will work collaboratively with your Executive Director, Sales Director and team to meet and exceed annual sales quotas.
What You Will Do
- Using a top-down, consultative sales approach, work with team members to build effective strategies, maintain & strengthen relationships with all key decision makers and key influences within territory.
- Create and open opportunities with districts and schools via prospecting and other business development activities.
- Proactively manage your territory and document and share partner information and your activity in Salesforce and other internal tools and present territory and account updates to our sales leaders.
- Create, and negotiate proposals and contracts that ensure profitable growth aligned with Discovery Education business objectives.
- Cultivate, nurture, and develop relationships with key national and state organizations to further Discovery Education's mission, promote brand awareness, and open doors to new opportunities.
- Represent Discovery Education and the Statewide and Strategic Partnerships team as a thought leader and facilitator, actively engaging with local, regional, and nationally recognized professional organizations for leaders in public education.
- Manage high outbound activity volume whether traveling or in the office.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, competitors, products, and industry trends and speak to the impact each will have on our partners and Discovery Education.
- Develop and demonstrate your exceptional Discovery Education product knowledge and differentiate Discovery Education from our competitors.
- Work with colleagues across our company, including the Executive Director of Statewide and Strategic Partnerships, Corporate Education Partnerships, Operations, K-12 Sales Leaders, Legal, Finance, and Marketing.
- Ensure successful integration and implementation of our product and services while working hand in hand with our Partner Engagement and other post-sales teams.
- Create and implement strategies so that your partners harness the full power and value of Discovery Education products and services.
- Manage and stay within your budget by managing your travel, sales and account management expenses.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of EdTech or education sales and account management experience with a proven track record of strategic planning, territory management, consultative sales, and exceptional client relations with districts enrolling < 20,000 students.
- Demonstrable track record of revenue goal/quota achievement.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
- Attention to detail along with the ability to manage a diverse workload.
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
