The team you'll be part of

The Customer Experience organization provides a common interface to customers including account and relationship management, acting as the voice of the customer internally and creating demand across our business groups. While bringing deep understanding of local markets for our customer, the CX organization ensures strong alignment between sales and delivery teams.

Within the CX organization, the US Regional Sales team supports US based regional and rural operators. The team consists of a nationwide set of account managers and sales engineers that support a region or a defined set of customers. The team is responsible for selling products, solutions, and services from across the Nokia portfolio.

What you will learn and contribute to

This position is for an Account Manager that will be responsible for selling across a set of regional states for the US Regional Customer Team. Specific account focus is across regional and rural wireline, wireless, cable, WISP and REIT accounts. Support for channel partners is also a key requirement of the position. The Account Manager will support the pursuit of opportunities that span ALL Nokia business groups (wireless, routing, optics, PON, DSL, application software and deployment services).

As part of our team, you will:
  • be the primary interface for all pre-sales and post-sales engagements
  • establish relationships with target customers across all roles within the operator (CxO, engineering, operations, marketing, etc.)
  • partner with sales engineers to understand customer challenges and requirements, then drive orders by providing innovative solutions and product development in support of operator needs
  • articulate the Nokia vision on technologies and solutions toward the Customer
  • position Nokia as a thought leader on key technological developments
  • maintain a sales forecast in Salesforce.com which includes high/medium/low probablity opportunities
  • work with internal bids and proposals team to create proposals for solutions and services
  • complete annual training requirements in support of building sales skills and increasing product knowledge


Your skills and experience

You must have:
  • At least 5 years of sales experience with US Regional customers (operators with 10-100K subscriber counts)
  • Knowledge of competitive telecom industry
  • 30-50% travel required across multiple states
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


It would be nice if you also had:
  • Knowledge of Nokia products and solutions
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Prior experience working with consultants for regional service providers
  • Ability to seize the initiative and lead in the absence of direct supervision
