Overview:

Direct key sales, manage client accounts of all sizes to meet needs of customers and reach goals of Bunge Milling, represent milling team externally to customer and work internally to maximize volume and margin in order to achieve the highest return on net assets for corn masa products.

Essential Functions:
  • Support efforts to market value-added masa products into major food service, retail and industrial sales channels
  • Direct and manage margin control decisions
  • Analyze and coordinate the production and packaging mix to optimize run-time and supply chain efficiency with operations, packing/loading and logistics managers
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager on strategic planning responsibilities
  • Work closely with sales and customer service staff
  • Develop sales budget by product, type and product package; coordinate with domestic sales, understanding overall budget goals to optimize mill capabilities
  • Maintain, grow and build customer relationships
  • Work with Bunge North America (BNA) business unit's sales forces to develop a growth plan
  • Negotiate and close sales opportunities
  • Lead sales into various retail markets for corn masa both on in house brands and private label
  • Ensure customer focus initiatives, and coordinate activities with product innovation group; maintain close contact with technical service and R&D
  • Be a lead for competitive intelligence and market conditions; establish and maintain a market model
  • Address customer credit and receivable issues as needed
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers/buyers and their operations personnel where appropriate
  • Coordinates and understands the customer's needs and what the plant is able to produce (mill balance/sales mix)
  • Assist customer service representatives in the management of customer contract pricing, balances and position reporting
  • Coordinates use of Company resources (e.g. technical, advertising) to provide value added services to accounts; work with marketing personnel designated to milling
  • Prepares sales presentations and proposals for key customer initiatives and supports other sales staff to ensure the necessary tools are available to make value-added sales
  • Help to create, maintain and share proper reporting documents required by management


Skills/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Business, Ag Economics and/or Marketing preferred
  • Minimum of two to six years' experience in food ingredient sales
  • Knowledge of commodity trading and structure, including hedging
  • Solid logistics understanding - pricing, equipment types and export dynamics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
  • Proficient in MS Office; basic SAP skills preferred
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
