Account Manager responsible for promoting Allison Transmission's propulsion solutions to North American and U.S. Government defense customers, cultivating relationships, and ensuring Allison grows our business in armored combat vehicle applications. The Account Manager collaborates with government representatives, OEMs, and internal teammates such as Business Proposal writers and Defense Engineers necessary to achieve Allison's growth objectives.
Responsibilities.
Strong analytical and technical skills with specific focus on armored combat vehicle propulsion solutions.
- Technical knowledge of the armored combat vehicle market to inform the Defense Programs staff, and vehicle manufacturers what propulsion solutions best meet their requirements.
- Familiarity with electrification concepts as the military moves toward hybrid vehicle solutions and requirements for power generation.
- Provide technical recommendations to the Defense Programs staff for Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), logistics, and new product information.
- Work with cross-functional teams to provide vehicle manufacturer support from Concept Devolvement, Design Validation, Production, and Delivery.
- Develop opportunities to increase market growth through new applications, emerging government programs, and strategic partnerships working directly with OEMs and Government entities.
- Execute other business activities such as Five-Year Market Demand Forecast, budgeting, and writing Planning Charters to support the annual business planning process.
- Develop and maintain knowledge and compliance with Allison policies, Allison procedures, departmental procedures, ITAR/EAR requirements, and methods of conducting business with Government personnel.
Experience.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years working with vehicle manufacturers in the commercial industry or military.
- High degree of integrity, business ethic, and leadership intangibles.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills combined with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Experience leading or being a key member of a cross-functional team involved in defense related programs, sales, or business strategy development.
- A U.S. person with the ability to travel on a regular basis.
