Account Manager

Overview
The Account Manager is a professional, non-overtime eligible position that reports to the sales management team. The Account Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and interacting with new and existing customers. The Account Manager will assist in growing CSI customer base within the food manufacturing markets to increase sales of products and/or services. In addition, the Account Manager will develop sales strategies designed to demonstrate the benefits of the products to achieve increased sales and profitability.
Essential Functions
- Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on food safety, quality, and developments in food manufacturing industries. Identifies sales opportunities within customers' communities through communications, programs, and other activities as needed.
- Handles prospects, qualifies, and generates sales.
- Ensures planning, account qualification, and needs analysis at all prospect levels.
- Telephone prospects to identify appropriate contacts, qualify, and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
- Manage all sales-related administrative duties, such as entering leads into the CRM database and submitting expense reports, call activity reports, quotations, and sales contracts.
- Identifies and closes additional purchases of products and services by lead generation.
- Works closely with Customer Service, Territorial Account Managers, and other CSI personnel.
- Engages in technical discussions with potential clients through demonstrations and presentations.
- Sales team support may be required. Trade show participation is required.
- Keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports and competitive situations.
- Must support all aspects of the products including product firmware, software, and other technical aspects of the product.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in food/life science/agricultural business or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and passport.
- This is a full-time onsite position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., hours/days may vary (including occasional weekends) depending on business and customer needs.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected at about 40%.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 2 years of sales or sales support experience.
- Knowledge of Microbiology and grain lab experience.
- Two years in customer service, public speaking, or training role in a biotech company.
- GMP/GLP Experience.
- Quality Assurance, HACCP, ISO experience.
Physical Requirements
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- The person in this position must be able to travel domestically up to 40% of the time.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with distributors and customers who have inquiries about the product, invoice, or shipping confirmation. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Occasionally must be able to lift 45 pounds, as well as handle travel gear.
- Constantly operates general office equipment as well as operates and demonstrates company equipment.
- Must be able to remain stationary (generally at an on-site workstation) for an extended length of time.
- Due to required travel this position may experience weather and temperature fluctuations.
- High levels of stress often occur; must be able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
