H+K Strategies is seeking an Account Manager with experience in consumer communications to join our team as a client and account lead for a major audio-streaming company. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career in a fast-paced, client-facing role on a global team. In this role, you will serve as a true extension of the client team and be part of a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary group on an inter-agency team.

The ideal candidate is brand and media savvy, passionate about client service, creative ideas and hungry to build relationships with key top-tier consumer media. We are looking for someone who is both a self-starter and a team player - motivated to deliver results and able to work effectively with colleagues. Ideally, this candidate also has experience with internal communications as well.

What you'll be doing:

  • Serve as the day-to-day execution lead across the brand/culture and internal communications workstreams, establishing strong relationships with clients.
  • Approach every project with a client excellence mindset and commitment to quality work that exceeds expectations.
  • Contribute to generating fresh and smart ideas that ladder up to client goals.
  • Craft thoughtful points of view and recommendations based on a broad understanding of consumer behavior, media relations and industry landscapes.
  • Develop earned media strategies and corresponding written materials, including reports, press releases, presentations, analyses, coverage recaps, and general client correspondence.
  • Develop/consult on internal communications strategies.
  • Directly manage and mentor a collaborative team of smart and enthusiastic PR professionals; ensuring deliverables are met on time and up to quality standard.
  • Lead team and client meetings.
  • Manage project budgets alongside an understanding of agency financial processes.
  • Staff client events, serving as the client and media lead, willing to move and think on your feet, as needed.

What you'll need to get here:

  • Undergraduate degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Marketing or related
  • 4-5 years of PR agency/in-house experience in consumer communications for large, global brands - internal communications experience a plus
  • Knowledge of consumer market
  • Solid working knowledge of the consumer media landscape; relationships with top-tier consumer/lifestyle media preferred
  • Go-getter who is willing to go above and beyond for their client and the agency
  • Expert in culture - staying on top of buzzing trends, Gen Z, social media, and more
  • Strong communications writing skills tailored to both external and internal audiences
  • Experience working on national or global teams is a plus
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, anticipate client needs and work with quality and efficiency
  • Professionalism, poise and confidence in participating in a variety of situations including client presentations and events
  • Ability to drive creativity, execute programs and manage the client process
  • Availability to travel as needed

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $60,000 to $140,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, qualifications and location. Hill+Knowlton Strategies offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, short & long term disability, life insurance/AD&D and 401k matching.
