Account Manager - Water Treatment

OPPORTUNITY
The primary purpose of this position is to assume ownership of an assigned water treatment sales territory, or an assigned account portfolio, and manage it with a business plan that facilitates the achievement of the annual performance goals mutually agreed upon with the respective manager. Â
As Account Manager, primary responsibilities include:
- Maintain and service water treatment business at current accounts, specifically boiler, cooling tower and wastewater applications by:
- Constructing and executing a sound annual business plan with some assistance from sales management. Â
- Building in-depth relationship with decision-makers at key accounts.
- Meeting competitive threats.
- Making personal visits to key accounts and entertaining the accounts’ decision-makers when deemed appropriate.
- Utilizing detailed and comprehensive reviews of sales history data (12-month perspective) and reporting variances to the sales manager.
- Resolving customer service issues and complaints to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Develop a sales pyramid of prospects in an assigned territory and execute on a sales strategy. Obtain new business by:
- Using Salesforce as a sales development tool.
- Structuring programs for customers and prospects that take advantage of Hydrite’s manufacturing equipment and distribution strengths, as well as Hydrite’s financial resources.
- Engaging corporate resources to help create competitive advantage.
- Performance Measures: New margins & volume at new accts. GM dollars of new business.
- Be proactive in identifying leads, qualifying them, and closing opportunities that will enhance Hydrite’s long-term market viability
- Survey plants, utilize the various tools available to determine best-in-class solutions and offer unique chemical programs for our customers
- Effectively manage time and territory to maximize productive activities
- Write timely chemical treatment proposals and service reports
- Proper care and use of all company property
- Maintain chemical sample supplies and equipment required to service accounts
- Provide field assistance to the Hydrite Chemical Co sales organization
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Sales Manager - Water Treatment
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
- 4-year technical degree in science or engineering
- Minimum of 3-5 years field experience in water treatment
- 1-3 years sales and/or field experience is desired
- Must be technically competent in water treatment applications
- Must possess strong problem solving, troubleshooting and “people” skills
- Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
