Account Resolution Specialist III

The main purpose of this position is researching and investigating past-due freight bills by calling customers and inquiring as to why the bill has not been paid, and resolving the situation as professionally and quickly as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate past due freight bills by calling customers and inquiring as to why the bill has not been paid.
• Research problems with billing customers such as quoting wrong rates, billing to the wrong address, missing bill of lading, etc., and correct problems as quickly as possible.
• Coordinate bankruptcy information between the Collections Department and Legal, process Mexico payments through the system, and collect on NSF checks.
• Serves as an escalation point when deemed necessary by supervisor for an account to be resolved immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
• Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications:​

• AA degree required and BA degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Five years of combined ccounts receivable and collections experience preferred.
• Six months to one year of transportation experience preferred.
• Above average AS400 and PC experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Collections policies and procedures usually through practical and on-the-job training.
• Skill in operating a PC.
• Above average Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate in a direct but professional manner when calling customers on past due freight bills.
• Typing skills - 35-40 WPM.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
