Account Specialist

The Account Specialist, reporting to the Controller, is responsible for various financial and accounting tasks essential for accurate reporting and analysis. This includes sorting and coding invoices, entering details into accounting software systems, and posting financial transactions to maintain up-to-date accounts payable and receivable records.
Additionally, the Account Specialist reconciles vendor statements, prepares and issues purchase orders, and monitors shipment details to ensure timely delivery. They also research opportunities to reduce expenditures and process checks, reconciling accounts, and producing statements monthly. Moreover, the Account Specialist monitors accounts payable and receivable, reports outstanding issues, and collects and maintains essential documentation for vendors and employees, such as W-2, W-9, and 1099 forms.
 

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

• Accounting skills: You need to know basic accounting principles, including how to maintain general ledgers and how to oversee accounts payable and receivable.
• Attention to detail: You must be able to input information accurately to avoid making errors.
• Computer skills: You must be fluent in standard accounting software and spreadsheet programs (Quick Books).
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• 2 - 4 years experience
