Job Description

Edelman is looking for our next Account Supervisor to join our growing Health practice, focused on health advocacy in the COVID-19 and flu space! This opportunity is perfect for a passionate PR professional who would like to grow their career in healthcare communications and purpose-driven work that supports the patient community through exciting disease education and awareness initiatives and partnership development.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple projects on a fast-paced, high-profile integrated account, anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline adherence and quality
  • Excel in account and project management skills, including keeping internal and external teams on track and maintaining internal and external deliverables trackers and timelines
  • Play a major role in the creation of advocacy engagement and integrated communications plans where advocacy has a key role; manage delivery of tactics against them
  • Serve as daily client contact and act as client lead when appropriate; address client issues thoughtfully and effectively
  • Consistently produce high-quality internal and external communications content, including advocacy partner communications, client internal communications, key message documents and Q&As, blog posts, etc., under tight timelines and with competing priorities
  • Proactively raise a hand and jump in to support junior and senior team members with ad-hoc client asks as they arise
  • Supervise junior staff by motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable, and conducting their reviews
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional specialty teams to drive integrated work for clients
  • Contribute to business growth through introducing clients to new capabilities, building a network of industry contacts, and participating in relevant professional organizations
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of skills; set and pursue stretch goals
  • Possess a solid understanding of the current healthcare landscape and the relevant issues impacting advocacy organizations and businesses active in the health space
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values (Quality, Integrity, Respect, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Mutual Benefits) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, non-profit, management consulting, media, and publishing.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • They ideally have an interest in purpose-driven health work in related areas of health equity and access, policy, sustainability, and non-profit engagement.
  • They should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a proven ability to manage multiple small or medium-sized projects simultaneously.
  • They should be able to develop communications plans, implement public relations and advocacy tactics, and impart knowledge to more junior team members.
  • They should have strong interpersonal, research, writing, editing, and client interaction skills, be very detail-oriented and organized, perform well under pressure, and be a team player.
