Job Summary
The Account Operations Manager will drive department goals and objectives, enhance processes, and manage the team. This individual is responsible for understanding, defining, and overseeing the processes and duties of the Account Operations team such as account and card maintenance, disputes, returns, non-post, account closures and other back-office functions and controls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the Account Operations staff, processes and responsibilities and delivers ongoing training to team members.
- Oversee the dispute processes internally and with third-party resources.
- Develop and implement effective fraud detection and prevention strategies with the assistance of a fraud analyst to mitigate fraud losses while ensuring an appropriate balance between risk and customer experience.
- Assess performance benchmarks and recommend changes when warranted.
- Continually looks for ways to improve processes, gain efficiencies and reduce expenses.
- Compiles and presents reports to senior management monthly.
- Understands and manages appropriate accounting procedures and processes for reconciliations and journal entries.
- Integrate with the card networks, processors, and strategic partnerships teams to implement new card programs, upgrade existing card programs, transfer programs and close out discontinued programs.
- Submits quarterly reporting to the card networks.
- Collaborates with the Compliance department, Internal Audit, the Security Officer, IT, and other business owners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicates effectively with management and peers.
- Maintains an elevated level of customer service.
- Adheres to bank policies and procedures.
- Other bank projects and duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience in banking.
- Experience in Banking or Financial Services.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing staff.
