EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.

***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, or Los Angeles, CA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates.***

This is a position within the Octagon Marketing Trainee Program. The Trainee will support the activation of a community event supporting a financial banking company. The role will require travel, between September-October 2023, to different markets across the country. Travel is also required during non-traditional hours including weekends, nights, and holidays. The Trainee will have the opportunity to work with the biggest name in financial banking while getting a unique opportunity to learn on-site event management, event planning, client engagement, consumer communication, event logistics, and more! 

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

• Provide support to event managers by helping lead and implement key program elements
• Work with supervisors to lead event logistics and staff
• Set-up and breakdown of the activation site
• Manage prize wheel and premiums
• Ensure that event attendees have a positive and engaging experience
• Travel to activation sites and maintain event space
• Other related duties as reasonably assigned.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• A passion for and expertise in sports and entertainment 
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 0-1 year of experience in communications, advertising, event management/production, or marketing industries 
• Previous event marketing experiences a strong plus 
• Excellent verbal communication skills - presentation or public speaking experience a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Attentiveness to detail; ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality work within strict timelines 
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, in addition to solving problems effectively and independently
• A go-getter and critical thinker who is confident, engaging, and enthusiastic
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
• Valid US driver’s license and clean driving record required 

This position pays minimum wage and is overtime-eligible.
