JOB SUMMARY:

Perform all accounting functions necessary to exceed customer expectations. Work with all departments to assure the quality of products shipped from this facility meets customer requirements in the most cost-effective manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Post, summarize, reconcile, audit, and maintain financial statements.
  • Provide account and cost analysis reports.
  • Coordinate and prepare financial information as necessary for monthly closing cycles and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Responsible for material usage tracking, reporting, and month-end reconciliations with the materials department on steel and work-in-process inventories.
  • Manage the closing process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare local and corporate level reports on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis.
  • Maintain SOX and GAAP compliance where required.
  • Manage the internal control of the accounting processes.
  • Provide support and assistance with audits, tax returns, forecasts & budgets, and financial reporting.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting system that will service management needs, internal depreciation, and tax (federal & state) depreciation.
  • Analyze and assist in preparation of Capital Appropriation Requests and other ad hoc financial activities as necessary.
  • Provide support to the payroll department, LAN Administrator and Plant Controller as necessary.
  • Process purchase requisitions & reconcile accounts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or a combination of related experience.
  • CPA desirable

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an SAP environment
  • ERP exposure required (CAN)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must have a strong desire to learn and continually improve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand financial numbers and statements.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft programs.
  • Must have working knowledge of accounting & budgeting principles and forecasting techniques.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues and documents.
  • Experience working in SAP and One Stream.
  • Knowledge or training in TQM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit frequently for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move about the facility in both the office and manufacturing areas.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity for computer work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • An office environment which includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, and controlled temperature.
