Job Description

As part of the Finance team at LGC Proficiency Testing, the Accountant supports the daily activities related to accounts payables and accounts receivables.

What you’ll do

  • Support the LGC Proficiency Testing Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department.
  • Supervise Accounts Receivable Clerk positions including team member development, coaching, and general team management duties.
  • Ownership of Accounts Receivable ledger balances, aging, risk-provisioning, and reporting.
  • Conduct regular review and analysis of recognized and deferred revenue.
  • Ownership of intercompany transaction classification, balancing, and reporting.
  • Support the financial period close process by completing necessary schedules, reconciliation of multiple systems, and recording of financial activity.
  • Completion of assigned account reconciliations and reports related to specific areas of the business.
  • Support the Financial Controls environment by participating in and completion of regular generation of control evidence and review.
  • Assist Accounting Manager with identification of risk within the business.
  • Perform regular electronic and physical payment runs.
  • Ongoing development of financial reporting analysis and key metrics to ensure drivers of business performance are monitored and understood to support decision making.
  • Assist in the generation of budget and forecast exercises.
  • Assist with engagements with external partners for various projects including financial audit.
  • Proactively communicates essential information with all levels of business partners and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned, in an effort to support the Finance team and partner with other groups in the business.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or another related field
  • 5 years' experience in accounting
  • Experience working in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable 
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Action-oriented team member with a keen focus to executing strategic and tactical plans on-time in a face-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient presentational skills including the ability to communicate effectively with global team members in multiple time zones, cultures, and areas of expertise.
  • Ability to build and maintain solid relationships, internally and externally
  • Strong understanding and use of Microsoft applications including Excel
