Accountant

We are looking for a versatile and resourceful Accounting professional who is looking to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment. A successful candidate in this role will responsible for monthly accounting & reporting of the P&L, Balance Sheets and other financial reports. He/She be willing to solve complex problems, eager to learn, have a motivated mindset, and the ability to adapt to a startup environment. This individual will be responsible for partnering with other internal Finance stakeholders to help develop best-in-class processes and controls to meet the challenges and growth of the company. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the monthly closing processes, including preparation and review of journal entries. This includes co-ordination of all schedules, prepayments, accruals and related reconciliations
• Deliver timely and accurate management reporting for brands including individual (Holding Companies) as assigned and consolidated monthly balance sheet, income statement, gross margin analyses, cash flow statements and changes in financial position
• Review of inventory provisions such as obsolescence reserves, and landing factors
• Weekly cashflow reporting and forecast balance sheet and cash flow modeling
• Be responsible for the Balance Sheet and Intercompany reconciliations within the Group as assigned
• Co-ordinate and prepare annual audit schedules including liaison with external auditors
• Own Payroll process, working closely with Human Resources 
• Involvement in any future acquisitions, including assessing accounting policies and making changes where required to align to Group policies. Previous experience with business combination accounting would be advantageous
• Be the accounting lead and partner with finance, operation leads and project teams to support and implement new initiatives as required
• Drive continuous improvement in the finance function, refine processes and procedures as we scaleProduction of the monthly bank covenants reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Mathematics preferred
• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Desirable: Practice background or 2+ years post qualified and strong technical experience preferably in the e-commerce space
• Experience in the preparation of year end accounts and tax compliance
• Prior experience running US payroll preferred
• Proven experience of developing solid relationships with key stakeholders and being able to influence decision making, including challenging stakeholders where necessary
• Process driven with meticulous attention to detail and working to deadlines in a fast-moving environment
• Experience of Netsuite. Quickbooks and Xero accounting system or similar ERP system would also be advantageous
• Strong excel skills
