Position Title: Accountant

Position Description: Axis Automation, a growing automated solutions provider, is seeking a full-time  Accountant in our Walker, MI office. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant will prepare and execute month end journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and support Accounting Department financial reporting and analysis (FP&A), liaising with operations departments. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with phenomenal communication skills, has impeccable accuracy and attention to detail; and excels at time-management.

Core responsibilities include:

• Planning and executing month end journal entries.
• Maintaining prepaids, fixed assets, and commission schedules.
• Performing monthly credit card reconciliations, ensuring appropriate support for all transactions.
• Compiling monthly project cost estimate worksheets for project management team.
• Preparing weekly payroll journal entries.
• Accounts Receivable – generating customer invoices and statements, supporting collection efforts, and posting customer payments.
• Compiling weekly check run for management approval.
• Collaborating on other accounting projects as needed.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills and experience:

• Attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (strong excel skills would be an asset in this role) and Google Suite – ERP experience is a plus.
• 3+ years accounting experience or a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Effective and professional communication.

 Wage Range: $55k-70k annually, depending on experience.
