Job Description
Boise Cascade is looking to hire an Accountant with relevant experience in Corporate Accounting and/or Financial Reporting who will report to the Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will join the Company's Financial Reporting Department and play a key role in the Company's corporate accounting and consolidated internal/external financial reporting efforts.
This position is based out of the headquarters office in Boise, Idaho, and requires at least two days per week in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities in this role may include the following types of activities:
- Work with individuals across various departments to record monthly or quarterly accruals and corporate allocations.
- Develop, maintain, and prepare monthly reports for management.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Consolidate and analyze company financial and operating data.
- Work with division accountants to perform technical accounting analysis related to lease accounting, record journal entries for lease accounting and perform account reconciliations.
- Work with division accountants and third-party vendor to record and analyze workers compensation transactions.
- Responsible for recording, analyzing, and reconciling employee compensation programs, which includes deferred compensation and long-term incentive programs.
- Record monthly equity share activity, as well as computation of basic and diluted EPS.
- Assist in preparation of supporting schedules included in the company's quarterly and annual filings with the SEC.
- Research and analyze emerging accounting and financial reporting guidance and trends including FASB standards and interpretations and SEC releases.
- Participate in various special financial projects where data collection, analysis, and reporting will be necessary.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with a basic understanding of accounting principles, theories, and company practices.
- 2+ years of corporate accounting and/or financial reporting work experience.
- Must be highly detail-oriented and organized to meet assigned deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers to maximize performance, problem-solve, and achieve results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus, but not required.
