Job Description

The accountant will assist with a wide range of day-to-day accounting duties, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting.

• Maintain accurate and thorough financial records ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded
• Perform daily AR and AP functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain and manage the company employee expense reimbursement system
• Maintain and manage the company purchase requisition system
• Maintain and manage the monthly asset records
• Assist with the month-end close process, including bank and account reconciliation and financial report preparation
• Prepare and submit monthly or quarterly sales tax returns, as needed
• Collaborate and communicate with other departments, as needed
• Communicate with customers and vendors, as needed
• Implement and maintain internal controls
• Assist in creating and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US University in business, finance or accounting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented with the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Understands accounting rules and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Oil and Gas billing portal experience preferred (Ariba, Smart GEP, OpenInvoice)
• QuickBooks experience preferred
