As our new Property Accountant, you'll work with and report to the CFO.
Day to Day:
- Processes journal entries into company ledgers
- Generates monthly accounting financial statements for properties in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Reports on variances to budget to management
- Analyzes variances on financial statements and reviews with property leaders
- Prepares annual budgets and enters into accounting system for tracking
- Prepares monthly rent rolls
- Assists in annual audits as necessary
- Records payroll transactions into company accounts
- Processes monthly public pay billings for specific properties
- Maintains general ledgers and ensures balance to subsidiary ledgers
- Monitors prepaid and accrued expenses for entry into the company ledgers
The Right Fit:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and one to three years of experience preferably in a property management environment
- Proficient use of Microsoft office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Experience with computerized accounting systems, experience with Yardi a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented
