Accountant

Pay Rate - $60-70/hr Job Description Responsibilities: • Calculate and prepare more complex journal entries, particularly around revenue recognition • Review workpapers prepared by Staff Accountants • Prepare variance and fluctuation analysis and write up explanations for assigned G/L accounts • Lead investigations and inquiries to ensure month-end close deliverables are robust and timely • Perform and/or review SOX controls • Review and assess implications to revenue recognition and accounting processes for any changes to customer contracts or any aspects in the order-to-cash cycle • Plan and test changes to billing and revenue systems impacting the team • Document various accounting and process changes • Special projects as appropriate Qualifications: • Minimum requirement o Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent) o Solid understanding of GAAP o 4+ year work experience performing senior level accounting work that includes preparing complex journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations o 2+ year experience working with complex business and/or revenue products, engaging in assessment of accounting treatment implications. o Proficient with Excel and aptitude to work with large amounts of data o Work experience in mid to large sized, tech or high growth company o Strong written and verbal communication skills • Highly preferred o CPA o Financial audit or internal audit experience o Revenue accounting experience o Solid understanding of ASC 606 o Working knowledge and experience with billing and A/R systems
