Job Description
The Finance department strives to maintain a strong financial foundation for Wolverine by managing the production of accurate, thorough, and timely financial information for all of Wolverineโs entities. More specifically, we execute the day-to-day financial operations including cash management, daily P&L, general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, and regulatory capital calculations. We are also responsible for regulatory compliance from a finance perspective and for filing monthly, quarterly and annual reports with various regulatory authorities.

We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive contributor who possesses a strong understanding of accounting and finance principles. This person will work collaboratively with all members of the Finance team, as well as with personnel in various departments to accomplish projects and initiatives. This position will report directly to the Controller.

What You'll Do:
ยท Perform treasury duties as assigned, including, but not limited to preparing and recording wire transfers, initiation of bank transfers, and application of receipts
ยท Perform monthly close functions accurately, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of trade and GL accounts, and the preparation of financial statements for various Wolverine entities
ยท Prepare and analyze daily trading results, trading and operational expenses, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders
ยท Assist with monitoring of capital requirements on a daily and monthly basis
ยท Support the team with regulatory filings for relevant trading entities and perform research on new regulatory requirements
ยท Prepare state and local tax filings for telecom, sales/use tax, and lease tax
ยท Collaborate with traders, compliance, and the operations department on projects to support and add value to the business
ยท Prepare and manage audit deliverables and collaborate with external auditors
ยท Identify and execute process improvements and assist in special projects
What We're Looking For:
ยท Bachelorโs Degree in Accounting or Finance
ยท Work experience of 3-4 years in public accounting and/or in a brokerage or trading firm
ยท Experience with general ledger software; Oracle E-Business Suite is a plus
ยท Excellent attention to detail and the ability to organize multiple work streams
ยท Self-motivated and able work in a fast-paced environment
ยท Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ยท Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, specifically)
ยท Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
ยท Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information
ยท Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
ยท Series 27 and/or 99 preferred
ยท All candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
