Your Role

As an Accountant at Gorilla, you’ll ensure the precision of our financial processes and provide insights that shape our growth. Your tasks will involve maintaining accurate financial records, managing compliance, and assisting in financial analysis, all critical to helping our startup thrive in a competitive landscape. You can perform your best in this position if you are a proactive, methodical person who can work in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

• Financial Management: Oversee accurate financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts, ensuring every detail aligns with Gorilla’s standards.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, enabling strategic decision-making.
• Bank Reconciliation: Conduct routine bank account reconciliations to verify transaction accuracy and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure our accounting practices align with Belgian standards and regulations.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support financial planning and provide analyses to help shape Gorilla’s future.
• Audit Support: Prepare for audits and collaborate with external auditors to meet compliance and quality standards.
• Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, managing our finances efficiently.
• Stay Informed: Keep up with changes in tax laws and financial regulations to maintain compliance.

What You’ll Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an accountant, ideally within a tech or startup environment.
• Strong understanding of Belgian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel/Google Sheets (Netsuite experience is considered a plus).
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems while communicating insights clearly.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational and time-management skills to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Fluency in English and Dutch.
