POSITION: Accountant

REPORTS TO: Controller

Position Summary

The accountant plays a key role in the finance team. This position is responsible for helping maintain accurate financial records. Additional responsibilities are involved in helping maintain compliance with tax reporting obligations, assisting in cash reporting initiatives, assists with Accounts Payable and works within finance & other functions to improve controls & financial accuracy.

Essential Functions

• Prepares & records journal entries.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparation of daily cash availability reporting.
• Backup for daily cash & liquidity reporting.
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
• Prepare annual personal property tax returns.
• Assist finance & plant teams in researching taxability of purchases.
• Prepare schedules in support of year-end audit & tax requirements.
• Work with plants & outside service to maintain state & local licensing requirements for the organization.
• Liaison for Accounting & AP team in terms of helping resolve issues, assisting in payment runs, and documenting controls & processes related to the AP function.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent years of direct experience.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Advanced Excel skills desirable.
• SAP experience a plus.

FLSA Designation: This position is a Salaried Exempt and not eligible for overtime.
