Accountant

The Accountant will be a member of the Finance team and will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills to best support the Finance team. This position will report to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities

• Review daily banking transactions and posting to the GL
• Perform reconciliations including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and operating expense analyses
• Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliation and post month- end journal entries
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet rollforwards
• Review AR report and notifying any discrepancies
• Assist with annual external audits by preparing schedules, documenting and explaining procedures and providing requested information as needed
• Assist in managing expenses and vendor invoices review
• Conduct and assist with other month-end and year-end close process
• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Ad-hoc and special projects as directed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a professional service company.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles to assist with internal reporting/monthly accounting cycle
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing work environment and work in cross-functional teams
• Excellent professional judgment, tact, and decision-making ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

You choose where you work. We are a hybrid work environment with options to work in one of our four offices (DC, NYC, Chicago and Atlanta), remotely anywhere in the United States, or a combination.

The anticipated salary range for this position will be $70K-$90K. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
