Job Description
The Accountant I works within the Accounting department to assist with the recording, analysis, and communication of the financial results of the Company. Primary responsibilities include bank and financial account reconciliations, review and recording of financial activity, assisting with the lot acquisition process, and assisting with the calculation of home sales prices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of bank account reconciliations.
- Review and record the company credit card transactions.
- Prepare and maintain schedules and reports to track, analyze, and communicate the financial activity of the Company, including but not limited to the following:
- Monthly reporting of sales, releases, and closings;
- Financial schedules and worksheets of the Company's property;
- Overhead analysis; and
- Lot and land under development costs, including records of such costs subject to reimbursement.
- Prepare and submit journal entries to accurately record the financial transactions of the company, including but not limited to the following:
- Lot and land acquisitions;
- Job costs and overhead expenses; and
- Monthly accruals.
- Assist with the lot acquisition process, including but not limited to the following:
- Coordinating with developers, title companies, and Division Presidents;
- Assist in calculating payment of property taxes and homeowner assessments dues; and
- Scheduling and processing lot purchases to comply with contractual agreements and home building demand.
- Communicating with department and construction personnel to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and communicated.
- Assist with the calculation and communication of home sales prices.
- Assist with the Company's financial statement audit process including responding to the audit requests.
- From time to time must complete projects on short notice with extreme time constraints.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in accounting preferred.
- At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- Experience working in MS Dynamics 365 preferred.
- Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
