Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for the most complex activities associated with general ledger, financial and operating reports. This level requires broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures, strong analytical review, and includes the preparation of strategic recommendations. Assists in period end close processes and procedures. Reconciles and adjusts various general ledger accounts.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Accountability for month-end close processes and financial reporting for assigned companies in a consistent manner, in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the company's standard practices and policies
  • Assist in the timely preparation of reporting packages
  • Assist with external audit engagements
  • Analyze financials for completeness; make succinct and timely recommendations for P&L improvement
  • Responsible to meet all deadlines for estimates, period end financial reporting, and statutory reporting among others
  • Serve as a liaison between accounting and finance departments
  • Respond to inquiries from global offices regarding reporting results and balances
  • Ensure consistent compliance with internal controls, corporate accounting standards, GAAP and IFRS
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and automation, while taking action to remediate
  • Ability to perform job duties with little to management oversight.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting and participate in special projects on an as-needed basis
  • Communicate with co-workers, management and company personnel in a courteous, timely and professional manner
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Ability to work and interact well with others
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required (or relevant experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance-related field required
  • CPA certification is a plus
  • IFRS 16 experience a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats
  • Must display an attention to detail at all times
  • Must be able to work proficiently with Microsoft Office applications

Special Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time
  • Position requires operation of a computer and other standard office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator, computer printer up to 90% of the time
  • Frequently communicates with employees in the office and at remote locations
